A very convenient location. The breakfast is a bit pricy but they deliver great quality breakfast. I also love the onsen and that it caters until 1am, especially for those who just came back late from sightseeing and bar hopping around the city, to be able to relax after all the hustle and bustle of a day is the best! Bed, pillows were comfortable and the room was clean! Make sure to stay here everytime you come to Kyoto, 'cause for sure, we will!

We loved everything! Location, rooms, sauna, shared space, massage chairs and ambience. And the breakfast was the best in my life! Arigato gozaimasu.

The Gallery Sakura Terrace, has one of the best Japanese Buffet style breakfast I've had & I have had many when living in Tokyo for a coulple of years & on our annual holidays since. The rooms at The Gallery are very large by Japanese standards. All rooms have huge private balconys where you can enjoy the sunshine & fresh air that Kyoto is well known for. The Gallery has a fabulous ambiance in the courtyard, styled to suit all taste and adult guests. Large and very comfortable lounges & lounge chairs suround two large raised open fire pits glowing as the flames flicker & dance about the fire wood in the cooler months. While in th warmer months large doors are open creating a breezy alfresco feel. Every guest is welcome to free Barista coffee blended & ground before your eyes, free cofee is also avaliable from accessable machines. The evening starts with a Free welcome drink form the courtyard bar even if your not dining or ordering from the resterant. The menu is comprepensive offering the very best of Japans Wargu steak & Lobster, much of the menu is seasonal to make sure only the very best produce is used in all their food. (many Items on the menu are also available to take away back to your room. Each night of the week a differant entertainer sings or plays keyboard & clasical instruments that flows through the courtyard, where large undercover open air lounge for smokers. The other of side of the lounge has many sumptious lounges & coffee tables are for the exclusive use for non smoking guests. We have stayed at the Gallery numerous times pre & post pandemic, Its overall open plan is definatly a winner ninimalising the posibility of transmission of any air boune viris (Colds,Ful, covid) between staff & guests, unlike other prestigious brands that build Hotels where the aircondioning is shared throughout the building & no rooms having balconys or the ability to open the windows.

This is the most relaxing hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were exceptional and made us feel very welcome. The fact it's open only to hotel guests means that people felt comfortable to lounge in the courtyard areas and we got chatting to other guests which made for a lovely atmosphere. The onsen was so relaxing and very safe as the women's room had a code to enter. The restaurant was fantastic and it was a real perk having an evening drink available each day. The location was ideal because it was right near the main station so it meant we could get aorund Kyoto and travel to other cities very easily.

We took advantage of some post-holiday deals to book four relatively inexpensive nights at the Sakura Terrace the Gallery. The location near Kyoto-eki was incredibly handy on arrival day, departure day, and in-between. We loved the communal o-furo facilities and went every day. Loved that you could have breakfast & dinner in your "room wear," a comfy cotton top & bottom. I liked it so much I bought a set (4000 yen). You can also borrow a quilted "hanten" over-jacket from the lobby if you're cold. The breakfast varied only a little each morning (we ate there 4 mornings), but it was tasty & so convenient. We had dinner at the restaurant just one rainy night when we didn't feel like leaving; not the best meal we had in Kyoto but quite satisfying. (Our best meal was at nearby Spain Bar Hablamos.) The hotel staff are great: responsive, friendly, conversant in English if you need that. Oh! and the free "welcome drink" available every evening in the bar was a nice plus.

Best location. Shinkansen drop-off just a few meters away and also all metro branches available there. One free alcohol drink per day, live music every evening, and cozy fireplace chill area with plenty of space. Great waiters and friendly english speaking stuff. Own Reastoraunt with dinner option is a life saver.

Sakura Terrace The Gallery was very nice and conveniently located. Interesting that room entry doors face an open air courtyard. A nightly welcome drink is offered at the hotel's downstairs restaurant and bar. Although extremely close to the very busy Kyoto Station, it was quiet and the area seemed quite safe. A convenience store is located just around the corner. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, and site seeing within easy walking distance at the Kyoto Station and beyond. We also used the trains and busses to see more of the city. The Suica card we picked up in Tokyo worked fine here as well. The room was a bit bigger than expected with two single beds and a small couch and table. Unfortunately, the bedside lights worked off of one switch so could not be turned on individually for nighttime reading. The deep, reasonably long, and comfortable tub was great for soaking tired feet and body after long days out touring.

I cannot say enough about excellence of the Sakura Terrace The Gallery. First and foremost is the high level of hospitality and generosity. The staff are most welcoming, guests enjoy free drinks and live music in the evening, free coffee is available in the lobby, and the public bath offers great luxury and comfort after a day of sightseeing. Our room was reasonably large for Japan, and the balcony added to the sense of space even though the weather prevented us from making much use of it. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel granted our request to have access from both sides. The hotel lies on a quiet street within a five minute walk of Kyoto Station, so transportation is simple. We ate breakfast in the hotel one morning, which was excellent and fairly price for what we got. There are lots of good restaurant in Kyoto Station, and a 7-11 is just half a block away from the hotel if you’re tired and don’t wish to go the Station for your meal. The Sakura Terrace is the best hotel we have ever stayed in, so we recommend it highly to others.

Location was great as it was a 2 minute to Kyoto train station. Room was a very good size, clean with good amenities, the bathroom was very clean and bonus with the balcony although would have good if you could have smoked outside on it. There is a public bath (but no tattoos allowed), self service laundry, massage chairs whilst you wait.
